KABANANA HOPE AND FUTURE SCHOOL
for orphaned and vulnerable children
This school was founded by a local with a heart for the education of all marginalized children and orphans within his community.
When we visited the school in 2013, our hearts were moved by seeing the tremendous needs of these children. The living conditions were very poor.
For School 200 children were all placed into one room on the floor with no chairs or desks, sitting on empty maize bags. We began by assisting the children with school supplies, feeding of meals and helping with teachers’ salaries. All teachers were and are volunteers. Also in 2013 we were able to buy a small piece of land and begin construction. we were able to complete 3 classrooms, an auditorium and a water well.
Now in 2018, we are serving over 450 children under the School Headmaster Dennis Sikanyika, who has a heart for the welfare and education of vulnerable children He as been able to add to the staff for teaching, feeding, and discipling programs. There are currently seven teachers and one cook employed.
Our needs for Kababana are many, including food, salaries, school supplies, equipment and help with tuitions for the children able to go on to higher education.
